One person was killed and another seriously injured in a rollover accident Saturday evening on I-70.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Hyer said Sunday that the driver of the vehicle, traveling with five passengers, may have been driving too fast for the snow and icy road conditions just outside of Green River when he lost control, slid into the median and rolled his SUV several times just after 9:30 p.m.
One passenger, 16-year-old Octavio Rivas, was the only person not wearing a seat-belt and was ejected in the rollover. Rivas was transported in critical condition to Castleview Hospital in Price where he later died. Another passenger, a 20-year-old female, was also transported with a leg injury, but Hyer said she was doing well Sunday and is expected to make a full recovery.
Hyer said he believed all six people were related and traveling from Mexico to Nebraska.
