Scam phone calls have now hit parents of American Fork High School students, prompting Alpine School District to send a computerized phone message to warn all parents.
Cottonwood High School in Granite School District and Layton High School in Davis School District reported similar fraudulent calls early last week.
The solicitor claims to be a school representative and asks parents for their Social Security number and credit card number so their child can enroll in an ACT/SAT prep class.
Alpine District spokeswoman Rhonda Bromley said, "As a school or a district, we would never ask for social security numbers or credit card numbers over the phone."
