St. Pius V Catholic Church in California continues to welcome music students

MIDVALE — The Easter tradition at Hillcrest High School is for some 150 music students to travel to St. Pius V Catholic Church in Orange County, Calif., and participate in Easter Mass — singing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah and other classical numbers.

It all started 10 years ago when Brian Bentley, Hillcrest's choral director, took a group of students to Southern California and their scheduled performance fell through.
