TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The Bureau of Land Management has started a 30-day comment period on whether three meteorological towers should be erected in south-central Idaho in the area of a proposed wind farm to track wind patterns.
The towers would be in place for up to three years, and could affect views in the area, grouse, bats and a species of cactus.
Renewable Energy Systems America Developments has proposed a 185-turbine wind farm, called China Mountain, on 9,000 acres between Twin Falls and Jackpot, Nev.
