Despite a performance that was panned by the judges, Utahn Megan Joy Corkrey survived to sing another week on "American Idol."
Although the judges called her performance of "For Once In My Life" "horrible," "atrocious" and a "train wreck" full of "bad notes," Corkrey wasn't even in the bottom three of the voting. Corkrey herself looked surprised when it was announced she was "safe" for the week.
Michael Sarver was sent home; Matt Giraud and Scott McEntire were second and third from the bottom, respectively, when viewers' votes were totaled. The competition continues Tuesday (7 p.m., Ch. 13).
