SALT LAKE CITY — Artwork from the 8th
International Art Competition sponsored by the Church History Museum
for Latter-day Saint artists is on display at the Conference Center in
Salt Lake City from now until Oct. 11, 2009.
The 2009 exhibit features 197 works selected
from 1,089 entries representing a worldwide range of cultural
traditions, styles and media. Artists from 44 countries submitted
entries based on the theme: \"Remembering the Great Things of God.\"
\"Art is a great bridge,\" said Ray Halls, exhibit
manager. \"We might speak different languages and live in different
cultures, but this type of artistic expression shows we're really more
alike than different. We're all brothers and sisters.\"
Exhibit hours are Monday through Saturday, 10
a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; closed April 4-5 for general conference. While not required, tour reservations can be made
by calling 801-240-4615. The general information number is
801-240-3310. The exhibit can also be viewed on the Internet at
