SUMMIT COUNTY — Two men from Massachusetts were arrested on I-80 near Park City Saturday after a Utah Highway Patrol trooper found 11 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle.
Just before 10 a.m., a trooper pulled over a vehicle for a traffic signal violation, 8 miles east of Parleys Summit, said UHP Sgt. Jeff Plank. The car was registered out of Indiana, he said.
As soon as the trooper approached the vehicle, he could smell marijuana, Plank said. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up high-grade marijuana as well as a small amount of hashish.
The driver and passenger had picked up the drugs in San Francisco and were headed to Boston, Plank said.
Anthony Russo and Scott Morse, both 24, were arrested for investigation of marijuana possession with intent to distribute and drug possession for the hashish.
