Life in prison for Bernie Madoff might be a mistake. Perhaps he should be sentenced to stroll unaccompanied around Manhattan wearing a sign that reads, "I am Bernie Madoff."
The swindler could be a fashion model, especially wearing a bikini in a tank full of piranhas.
Ouch. Or Madoff could be tied to a chair and forced to listen to the recorded rantings of Jim Cramer for 10 hours a day.
None of this is of any comfort to the thousands of Madoff victims. His lifetime cellmate should be a friendly sort like, say, Hannibal Lecter.
