Jason R. Jones has been named equity partner with the firm of Thorpe North & Western LLP. Jones has been with Thorpe North & Western since October 2001. His practice has focused on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents in the mechanical sciences and a variety of trademark and copyright matters. Jones' education includes degrees from the University of Utah.
Perry S. Clegg, David J. Langeland and Benjamin J. Holt have been elected as officers of the Cyberlaw Section of the Utah State Bar. Clegg, chairing the section, is the former vice chairman of the section and practices as an intellectual property attorney at Bateman IP Law Group. There, he assists clients in domain name, e-commerce, licensing and patent and trademark litigation. Langeland, the section's vice chairman, is an intellectual property attorney at Callister Nebeker & McCullough, where he assists clients in licensing and general corporate matters. Holt, the section's secretary, is an intellectual property attorney at Bateman IP Law Group where he assists clients in certain infringement and trade secret matters.
C.R. England has announced several personnel moves. David Robbins is the new vice president of corporate sales and business development. Robbins has worked for a pair of other companies. Dave Houston has joined England as director of dedicated sales for the Southeast Region. He previously worked for another company. Steven Stein is director of sales for dedicated fleet services. Stein comes to England with transportation experience with three other companies. Matt Johnson has joined the corporate finance department as controller. Johnson was previously with another firm. Michael Woolley has been named associate general counsel. Woolley is a former shareholder at one firm and served as an associate attorney at another. Ryan Snow has joined England Logistics, a division of C.R. England, as vice president and corporate counsel. Snow, a licensed real estate agent in Utah, previously worked as general counsel at a real estate company.
Alan Sparrow, headmaster at Rowland Hall, has been elected president of the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools' board of governors. His one-year term begins July 1 for the organization of more than 100 independent schools in an eight-state region.
