NEW YORK — Freshman Devin Ebanks scored a career-high 20 points to lead scrappy West Virginia to a 74-60 upset of No. 2 Pittsburgh on Thursday night, knocking out the defending Big East tournament champions and advancing to the semifinals for the second straight season.

Alex Ruoff added 18 points and Da'Sean Butler had 16 for West Virginia (23-10), which might be the hottest team in the nation's deepest conference. The Mountaineers have won four of their last five, their lone loss coming to No. 5 Louisville last weekend.

The tournament's seventh seed got a big assist from DeJuan Blair, the league's co-player of the year, who spent most of the game on the bench for Pittsburgh (27-4).

NO. 18 SYRACUSE 127, NO. 3 CONNECTICUT 117 (6OT): At New York, Syracuse outlasted Connecticut in the second-longest Division I game ever played. Andy Rautins hit a 3-pointer 10 seconds into the sixth overtime Thursday night, giving the Orange their first lead since regulation and they went on to a 127-117 victory over the third-ranked Huskies. The game finished one overtime short of the record set in Cincinnati's 75-73 victory over Bradley on Dec. 21, 1981.

NO. 4 MEMPHIS 51, TULANE 41: At Memphis, Tenn., Shawn Taggart scored 19 points, and No. 4 Memphis extended the nation's longest winning streak to 23 straight.

No. 10 VILLANOVA 76, No. 21 MARQUETTE 75: At New York, Dwayne Anderson's last-second layup — his only basket — fell in as the buzzer sounded. The fourth-seeded Wildcats (26-6) led by 17 points in the first half, but Marquette took a lead with 1:40 to play.

BAYLOR 71, NO. 11 KANSAS 64: At Oklahoma City, LaceDarius Dunn hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to help the Bears rally after blowing a 17-point lead.

NO. 13 WASHINGTON 85, STANFORD 73: At Los Angeles, Jon Brockman scored 20 points and Isaiah Thomas sparked a decisive second-half spurt with nine points. The Huskies (25-7) will play 23rd-ranked Arizona State (23-8) in today's semifinals at Staples Center.

NO. 14 MISSOURI 81, TEXAS TECH 60: At Oklahoma City, DeMarre Carroll scored 19 points and No. 14 Missouri (26-6) used a pair of second-half spurts to avoid an upset.

GEORGIA TECH 86, NO. 17 CLEMSON 81: At Atlanta, Lewis Clinch set a career high with 32 points and last-place Georgia Tech (12-18) pulled off the upset.
