Westminster is the sixth overall seed in the 32-team bracket for the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament released Thursday afternoon and will face Biola University in a first-round game next Thursday in Kansas City, Mo., at 9:45 a.m. (MDT).
The Griffins qualified for the tournament after sweeping both the regular season and tournament titles in the Frontier Conference.
The Eagles received an at-large berth after finishing fourth in the Golden State Athletic Conference. This is Biola's 16th trip to Kansas City, and they have compiled a 19-15 record in previous appearances.
Westminster has met the Eagles once before, winning 96-69 on Nov. 16, 2001.
WESTMINSTER WOMEN GET NO. 4 SEED: In the bracket for the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament, fourth-seeded Westminster will face fifth-seeded Loyola (La.) in a first-round game for a second consecutive season. The two will play next Wednesday in Jackson, Tenn., at 11 a.m. (MDT)
The Wolfpack eliminated the Griffins from the tournament a year ago, picking up a 73-64 victory.
Westminster received an at-large berth after winning the regular season Frontier Conference title. This is the third straight trip to the national tournament for the Griffins; they are 1-2 in their previous appearances.
