The Art Institute of Salt Lake Cityis hosting its Best Teen Chef finals Saturday, March 14, at AiSLC's campus in Draper. The local first-place winner receives a $3,000 tuition scholarship to AiSLC and will compete in the national Best Teen Chef Competition finals in May.

Local second- and third-place winners will receive $2,000 and $1,000 scholarships.

Finalists are Kierston Moore of Cottonwood Heights; Kathryn Salas of Dugway; Dominic Stewart of Layton; Parker Buchanan of Murray; Tyler Spencer of Orderville; Levi Adair of Price; Ever Garcia and Shannon Ma of Salt Lake City; Steven Maranto and Nickolas Pizarro of Sandy; and Steven Norris of West Jordan (www.Art Institutes.edu/SaltLakeCity).

The International Dutch Oven Society's World Championship Cook-Offtakes place this week during the International Sportsmen's Expo at the South Towne Expo Center, 9575 S. State, Sandy. Cooking teams will compete March 12 and 13 for a spot in the finals March 14, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Also taking place Saturday afternoon at the ISE is the Frostbite BBQ Challenge with six teams of local BBQ chefs. The Iron Chefs Challenge takes place March 15, with local chefs cooking with Dutch ovens.

Dutch oven cooking demonstrations will take place throughout the Expo. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for teens and free for children 12 and under (www .SportsExpos.com).

Utah McDonald'srestaurants are offering four March Madness meals for $4 each when purchased as a regular Extra Value Meal including medium fries and drink. Entree choices include McDonald's Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Big 'n Tasty and Filet-O-Fish. Customers who purchase the larger size Extra Value meal receive an NCAA Final Four themed cup.

Rumbi Island Grill is hosting a grand opening of its 24th restaurant, at 675 E. 2100 South, March 20. Free rice bowls will be given away from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and customers can enter to win free rice bowls for a year. Also during the month, the restaurants will be raising money for the Utah-based nonprofit organization CHOICE Humanitarian.

Log Havenis continuing its Steak and Lobster Fest through March, due to popular request. For $35, guests can feast on a petite Caesar salad, followed by a grilled New York steak, broiled Maine lobster tail and aligot potatoes. If ordered before 6:30 p.m., the same meal is $25. March's "local" menu special is Morgan Valley Lamb Shanks served with Habanero Beehive Cheddar Wheat-berry Risotto.
