Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios, will be the morning keynote speaker at the 2009 Governor's Utah Economic Summit, set for March 30 at the Grand America Hotel.
Catmull co-founded Pixar Animation Studios and previously was vice president of the computer division of Lucasfilm Ltd. He earned bachelor's degrees in computer science and physics and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Utah.
Other featured speakers at the summit will be Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. and Kelly Matthews, executive vice president and chief economist at Wells Fargo Bank.
The summit also will include break-out sessions and panel discussions. It is being presented by the Governor's Office of Economic Development and MediaOne of Utah.
