The Dannon Co. has announced that applications for its Dannon Next Generation Nutrition Grants are now available at www.dannon.com.
Four individual grants of $30,000 will support childhood nutrition education programs and will be awarded to one program nurturing healthy eating habits among children in each of the four communities where a Dannon facility is located — Salt Lake County; Tarrant County, Texas; Westchester County, N.Y.; and Shelby, Mercer, Darke and Auglaize counties in Ohio. Applications are due by March 31.
Dannon established the grants in 2006 to promote childhood nutrition education in communities where Dannon facilities are located.
To qualify for funding, organizations must be designated as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and must already be engaged in a nutrition education program for children up to age 18 or be able to launch such an initiative in 2009.
Applications are available at www.dannon.com, under the Dannon Cares section of the Web site. For questions about Dannon's grant application process, call 914-872-8672.
