BUSY MONTH AT SNOWBIRD
Snowbird will hold several events this month.
The Junior Freeskiing Nationals will be March 9-10. Age categories for girls and boys are 12-14 and 15-17.
The U.S. Freeskiing Nationals will be March 11-14. The world's top extreme skiers will compete for $20,000 in prizes. A new venue will be chosen each day with increasingly difficult terrain and optimal views for spectators.
The North American Gelande Championships will be April 18-19.
The event will feature professional and amateur ski jumpers using alpine and telemark ski equipment. The competition gets under way April 18 with two rounds of amateur and telemark jumping immediately followed by the pro-seeding round before concluding on April 19. Admission is free.
Snowbird is also offering its spring passes. A pass from March 2 to the end of the season is $499 and a pass from April 1 to the end of the season is $279.

Last season, Snowbird offered skiing and riding until June 22.
SKIING PHOTO CONTEST
Ski Utah is calling out to shutterbugs to submit their best Utah ski or snowboard photography for the 2008-09 photo contest powered by Canon and Pictureline.
More than 1,000 images were submitted to last year's contest.
Submissions may be entered in an amateur or professional category. All submissions must have been taken in Utah during the 2008-09 winter season and need to be received by April 30.
Winners will be awarded with the following prizes:
Top prize in the amateur class is a five-night Utah winter vacation for two to include air, lodging and $500 gift toward Canon camera equipment.
The top professional prize is $1,000.
Winners of the photo contest will be featured on the pages of Ski Utah's Winter Vacation Planner.
