House members approved Tuesday a bill that would place at risk of a lawsuit a retailer who advertises that it doesn't sell adult-rated video games to minors, but then does sell them to underage players.

"This is the right thing to do," said Rep. Mike Morley, R-Spanish Fork, sponsor of HB353. Most game retailers do a fine job of not selling adult games to minors, but there are a few "bad players" that are pledging not to sell and then do.

The bill specifically places such offending retailers under the truth in advertising law, subject to an angry parent's civil lawsuit if they sell his child an adult-rated game.
