Here are the latest TV shows to land on DVD, led by a short-lived series from last year and a long-awaited follow-up to a fan-favorite sitcom.

"Canterbury's Law: The Complete Series" (Sony, 2008, two discs, $29.95). Julianna Margulies stars in this brief courtroom series as a passionate but deeply flawed defense attorney. As with a lot of modern TV dramas, the lead character here is extremely abrasive and has all kinds of personal problems that interfere with her work. And she seems to frighten most everyone around her — except her husband (Aidan Quinn).

Extras: widescreen, six episodes, trailers

"Just Shoot Me: The Complete Third Season" (Sony, 1998-99, three discs, $39.95). Fans of this very funny workplace sitcom will be happy to see this third-season set — which comes five years after the initial set with the first two seasons. Laura San Giacomo is bright and witty as the nominal lead character in this ensemble comedy, working for her self-absorbed father (George Segal) at Blush magazine, with requisite wacky staffers David Spade, Wendy Malick and Enrico Colantoni. Guests this season include Steve Carell, Mark Hamill, Tyra Banks and Kelsey Grammer.

Extras: full frame, 25 episodes, trailers

"The Spy Collection" (A&E, 1967-71, 14 discs, $99.95). This collection of episodes from four British shows is like a really cool starter kit. (Hey, kids, if you like these, buy the entire series!) And they are all vintage programs from the late '60s and early '70s. Included are the enigmatic cult favorite "The Prisoner," with Patrick McGoohan; "The Persuaders!" with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore as a sort of wealthy "Odd Couple" pursuing bad guys in Europe; "The Champions," in which the heroes have superpowers; and "The Protectors," with Robert Vaughn not all that far removed from "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

Extras: full frame, 47 episodes, audio commentaries, bonus episode (alternate version of an episode of "The Prisoner"), text trivia, text biographies/filmographies, photo galleries

"Enemy at the Door: Series 1" (Acorn, 1978, four discs, $59.99). This fine British series explores human emotions and loyalties that are tested among civilians and soldiers when Nazi Germany invades the Channel Islands during World War II.

Extras: full frame, 13 episodes

"Girlfriends: The Sixth Season" (CBS/Paramount, 2005-06, three discs, $39.99). The four sophisticated Los Angeles ladies of this ribald sitcom continue to quarrel and make up in this sixth season.

Extras: widescreen, 21 episodes
