Grizzlies shutout in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies (21-19-6-9) Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. Goaltender Mike Mole stopped 41 of 43 shots in the losing cause.

The game was scoreless until 33:13 in when the Aces broke the stalemate with a six-on-five goal from Brett Hemingway on a delayed Utah penalty.

Colin Hemingway gave Alaska a 2-0 lead with a five-on-three goal with just under four minutes left in the game. The score came with just 16 seconds left on the shorthanded situation that followed double-minors.

J.P. Lamoureaux stopped all 18 shots he saw from Utah to pick up the shutout.

Prior to the game, Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley announced the addition of defenseman Jim Jensen from the SPHL's Twin City Cyclones.

The Grizzlies and Aces rematch again Sunday night at 7:05 p.m.
