BOISE — Dontell Jefferson and Gavin Grant combined for 44 points and the Utah Flash shot a blistering 68 percent from the field in the third quarter as the Flash picked up a 107-92 NBA Development League victory over the host Idaho Stampede Friday night at Qwest Arena.
A Kevin Kruger three-pointer at the end of the third-quarter capped a Flash 25-10 run to end the third period, and complete the Utah 35-point third quarter.
Utah (19-12) moves into a West Division first-place tie with the Stampede (21-14), and the two teams square off again tonight in the second game of the weekend series.
Utah trailed for the majority of the first half before a Jefferson bucket gave the Flash a 45-43 lead just before the halftime break.
The Flash opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to grab a 51-43 lead, but the Stampede knocked down three straight three-pointers en route to a 12-2 run mid-way through the third period to grab a 55-53 lead.
