History symposium is today at BYU

PROVO — The co-author of a new book on the Mountain Meadows Massacre and scholars from the Joseph Smith Papers project will speak at the fourth annual Church History Symposium at Brigham Young University today.

Elder Marlin K. Jensen of the Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the church historian and recorder, will be the keynote speaker. Assistant historian and recorder Richard E. Turley, co-author of "Massacre at Mountain Meadows," also will speak.
