OREM — A prostitution sting Wednesday netted 10 misdemeanor citations for individuals who were interested in paying for sex or getting paid to provide it, police said.
The sting was part of an ongoing operation, said Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards.
The 10 adults, ranging in age from 19 to a man in his 60s, had all initiated contact over the internet and then went to several undisclosed locations to complete their sexual encounters, Edwards said.
The group included professionals, blue-collar workers and students. Most of the men cited were married, Edwards said.
The individuals were cited with class B misdemeanors for sexual solicitation and given dates to appear in court.
