OREM — Utah artist James C. Christensen will discuss his work and present a slide show on his new book "Men and Angels" at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the storytelling wing of the Orem Public Library, 58 N. State.
The program will include a book-signing and a chance to meet the artist.
"Men and Angels: The Art of James C. Christensen," co-written with Kate Horowitz, includes more than 300 works ranging from the 1970s to the present. The new publication follows "The Art of James C. Christensen: A Journey of the Imagination," which has sold more than 60,000 copies worldwide.
Christensen studied art at UCLA and Brigham Young University. He has won the Utah Governor's Medal for Fine Arts, as well as awards from the World Science Fiction Convention and the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists.
Christensen recently retired from BYU as an art professor. He continues to create oil paintings and works in bronze.
