"The Giver," BYU Theatre and Media Arts, youth auditions Feb. 24, 7-10 p.m.; adults Feb. 25, 7-10 p.m. Room D341 Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU, Provo.
This play by Eric Coble is adapted by Lois Lowry from the Newberry Medal-winning novel. Young actors should prepare a one-minute story, poem or monologue. Memorization not required. Adults need a one-minute dramatic contemporary monologue. All actors may be asked to read from the script — available for checkout from the production office, Room B236 of the Harris Fine Arts Center.
Performances are May 27-June 12.
"The Sugar Bean Sisters," Wasatch Theatre Company, Feb. 24, 6-9 p.m., and Feb. 28, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Studio B, Rose Wagner Center, 138 W. 300 South.

Actors will be asked to do cold readings from the script. A current head shot and resume and prepared 32 bars of a song are strongly preferred but not required.

"Treasure Island," Saturday. Feb. 28, 9 a.m.-noon, by appointment only, Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive.
All roles are open, and directors are looking for men 18 and older; women, late 20s-35; and young men ages 16-20. Some roles will be physically demanding — some will be required to swim.
