WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Thunderbirds will begin a three-game road swing when they travel to face the UMKC Kangaroos on Saturday afternoon. The game will be the second between the two schools this year with SUU capturing a 68-52 victory at home earlier this year.

The Thunderbirds will enter the game having split its latest contests after an overtime victory over Western Illinois (51-48), but a loss to IUPUI (53-76) on Monday night.

During those games, Anne Westwood Higbee recorded her 1,000th career point and 700th career rebound, becoming only the third Lady T-Bird to put up those numbers in her career. Higbee also led Southern Utah in scoring and rebounding in both games and continues to lead the team with 11.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

UMKC will also enter the game having split its most recent games after a 58-48 victory over IUPUI, but a 51-57 defeat to Western Illinois on Monday night.

In the first game between the two schools, sophomore Caitlyn Sears had one of her best games this season after pouring in a career-high 20 points. Sears also collected five rebounds, one block and one steal in a game-high 37 minutes. She was joined in double figures by Higbee (16 points, 11 rebounds) and freshman Dani Hosking with 12.

Chazny Morris led the Kangaroos during the game with a game-high 26 points, but didn't get any help with the next highest player scoring six.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. (CT). A live video stream along with live stats will be available through www.suutbirds.com.
