Word has it that a Utahn, Larry EchoHawk, may be under consideration for a possible appointment as the new assistant secretary for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. If so, I would certainly encourage the Utah congressional delegation to support his appointment. Mr. EchoHawk is the former attorney general for Idaho and presently is a distinguished full-time professor at Brigham Young University's J. Ruben Clark Law School. Native Americans deserve more recognition and fair treatment. EchoHawk has the credentials to do an outstanding job.
