Was: 1. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Brandon Davies' four first-quarter dunks against Springville last week was the talk of Utah County hoops. Next up: at Payson, today.

2. Lone Peak (15-2) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: A visit to Pleasant Grove this Friday is the last true test on the regular schedule for the Knights. Next up: at Pleasant Grove, Friday.

3. Skyline (14-1) Class: 5A

Was: 3. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Is it too early to start salivating over a Skyline-Lone Peak playoff meeting? Next up: at Hillcrest, today.

4. Pl. Grove (12-5) Class: 5A

Was: 9. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Now that the Vikings have figured out what it takes to win basketball games, they've once again as one of the elite teams in Class 5A. Now if they can just win a playoff game. Next up: vs. Lone Peak, Friday.

5. Bingham (11-5) Class: 5A

Was: 10. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Just when it looked like the Miners might be headed for a third-place finish in Region 3, they open some eyebrows with a 19-point demolition of West Jordan. Next up: vs. Riverton, Friday.

6. Riverton (14-2) Class: 5A

Was: 4. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: Last week's surprising loss to Copper Hills has many questioning just how good the 'Wolves really are. Next up: at Bingham, Friday.

7. Bear River (16-0) Class: 3A

Was: 8. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: It's too bad the Bears aren't still playing 4A and 5A teams. Next up: at Morgan, Wednesday.

8. West (13-1) Class: 4A

Was: 14. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: While other 4A contenders stumble against lesser foes, the Panthers continue to get the job done night after night. Next up: vs. Murray, Friday.

9. West Jordan (12-4) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The talented Jaguars are playing like a very mediocre team right now, which doesn't bode well with the state tournament just a month away Next up: at Hunter, Friday.

10. Orem (13-2) Class: 4A

Was: 15. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Big victory over Mountain View last week should give the Tigers confidence heading into their rematch with Timpview this Friday. Next up: at Tooele, today.

11. Bountiful (9-4) Class: 4A

Was: 17. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Forget about the Sky View hiccup, the Braves are definitely playing the best basketball in Region 5 right now. Next up: vs. Roy, today.

12. Alta (11-4) Class: 5A

Was: 11. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The offense deserted the Hawks against Skyline last week, which has been a them in many of their losses this year. Next up: at Jordan, today.

13. Clearfield (11-3) Class: 5A
