A federal grand jury returned a 22-count indictment Wednesday charging two Murray men who are accused of going on a robbery spree over the past five months.
Kenneth Wayne Zinda, 39, and John William Pacheco, 31, were charged with multiple counts of armed bank robbery, Hobbs Act robberies (business robberies) and use of a firearm during a violent crime.
The robberies gained notoriety because during the robberies, the men would wear fake beards, police have said.
The indictment charges the two men with eight bank robberies and three business robberies.
According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, the other 11 counts of carrying a firearm during a violent crime carry mandatory minimum sentences and run consecutive to any other sentence imposed in the case. The first count would carry a minimum sentence of seven years, and each subsequent count would add a mandatory minimum of 25 years to the sentence.
The men were arrested on Jan. 18 and originally charged in a federal complaint filed Jan. 20. They will be arraigned Friday in federal court.
