Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko underwent successful surgery Friday to remove bone fragments from his right ankle, Jazz general manager Kevin OConnor announced today. The surgery was performed by Dr. John Edwards in Bountiful, Utah.
Kirilenko has been released from the hospital and will remain home over the weekend before meeting with the Jazz medical staff Monday for further evaluation.
Currently in his eighth NBA season (all with the Jazz), Kirilenko has appeared in 38 games (6 starts) this season, averaging 12.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.55 steals and 1.42 blocks in 30.0 minutes per game.
