Man charged in rape of 2 women
PROVO — A man who police say raped two women was arrested and is being held on $50,000 cash-only bail.
On Jan. 22, police say the 20-year-old man went with his ex-girlfriend into a family-style bathroom in the Provo Towne Centre and proceeded to grope her, sexually assault her and rape her twice, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.
The woman told police she said "no" several times and that she was "with someone else," but he told her he didn't care and continued with the assault, according to the affidavit.
The man was in the bathroom with the woman for about 50 minutes based on surveillance video of the outside of the door, according to the affidavit.
Less than a week later, on Tuesday, the man was staying as a guest in a couple's home when police say he raped another woman, according to the affidavit.
Police say the man began the sexual conduct while the woman's husband was away and while she was napping. When the woman woke up, she asked the man what he was doing and demanded that he get off, according to the police affidavit.
She had to tell him twice, then he finally got dressed and left, police said.
The man was later found at the Provo Towne Centre and brought to the Provo police station for questioning, according to the affidavit.
William Lee Vinson, of Provo, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of forcible sex abuse, rape and forcible sodomy on $50,000 cash-only bail. Vinson will be in court again at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 5.

Speeding vehicle crashes into wall
Two men in a Camaro that has a license plate with the word "CHASNME" on it crashed into a cinder block wall after driving at a high rate of speed with no headlights on late Wednesday night.
Just before 11 p.m. a vehicle was "zipping through" a residential area with its headlights off near 5900 West and 5700 South, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson.
The ride came to an abrupt end, however, when the vehicle veered off the road and smashed into a wall, Hutson said.
The passenger was in critical condition and was transported to a local hospital after emergency crews arrived. The driver, however, got out and ran off immediately after the crash.
