It's about time to reach my (bleep) dieting goals

I Have many addictions — like craving and indulging in fast food, sucking down Diet Coke like my car in high school gulped oil, loafing on the sofa and bragging about occasional weight loss when two of those habits don't overcome me.

Unfortunately, making big goals — often related to weight-loss aspirations — and not always quite getting there is also one.

Watching "The Biggest Loser" is another.

Three years ago, I even stood in line for hours outside of a downtown Italian restaurant hoping to win over the hearts of the "BL" casting-call crew.

I'm still waiting for a callback for the second interview. I would've settled for a free piece of bread, but that never came, either. (Sniff, sniff.)

I'm not, however, still waiting to lose weight. (Smile, smile.)

Thanks to a rededication to my triathlon training and to a recommitment to eating healthy and taking control of my diet's destiny, I've lost all but one pound of the 15 that I gained during the holidays.

I've now lost a total of 163 pounds, including about 110 since the day "The Biggest Loser" rejected me. I'm still, however, only about 75 percent to my ultimate weight-loss goal.

Which brings me to the reason I'm writing about "The Biggest Loser."

For the past couple of weeks, I've been thinking a lot about an incident that happened on the show. Anybody who's watched NBC has probably seen a clip or two hundred of usually mild-mannered-but-inspiring Bob Harper — the trainer every woman in America, including my wife, has a crush on — go all bleepin' sailor-potty-mouth bonkers on one of the contestants.

Bob reached his over-(bleepin')-boiling point when a woman named Joelle didn't try as hard as he thought she should.

Bob wanted his hard-working team to sprint on the treadmill for 30 seconds. Joelle only made it to the 20-second mark before stepping off. Bob made them do it again and she then stopped a few seconds later but before she was supposed to take a breather.

From that point, Bob cussed her (bleepin') out for a long (bleepin') time because he was tired of her (bleepin') "talk, talk, talk!" Her teammates and viewers also got on her for being (bleepin') lazy and not giving her (bleepin') all to finish the task.

So did I, well, minus the (bleepin') parts.
