ST. GEORGE — Sentencing for a pastor accused of sexual abuse has been delayed again.
Court records show that Gabriel Carlin's sentencing was delayed Tuesday because authorities requested more time to complete a diagnostic evaluation. Carlin will now be sentenced in 5th District Court on Feb. 17.
Carlin, 35, struck a plea deal with prosecutors last year, admitting to two counts of attempted sex abuse of a child, both third-degree felonies. In exchange, Washington County prosecutors dismissed first-degree felony aggravated sex abuse charges.
Carlin was accused of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old student at the East Harbor Christian Academy in Washington city back in 2006.
