Listening to my 9-year-old daughter reading a story to her two younger sisters, then helping them brush their teeth and tucking them in bed, just like a pro.

My youngest finally sleeping in her own bed.

One son saying his prayers every day.

How each child comes flying in the door and the first person they look for is their mother.

Am I successful mother?

With more than 10,000 hours of deliberate practice, of sacrifice and opportunities to work harder, of great passion and hunger borne of difficult experiences, and with the love, trust and example of my children, I am like most every mother.

And each of us can stand with the "greats" of society, in company of thousands of other mothers, who by virtue of their choice and dedication can acknowledge that individually and collectively we are a success.

LIFETip: Write down three to five experiences that have been pivotal to your success as a mother.
