ROY — An elementary school crossing guard was hospitalized after being hit by a car here.
Roy police said the woman was helping children cross the street outside Roy Elementary near 5600 South and 2800 West about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"She had put up her stop sign," Roy Police Capt. Tim Jensen said Wednesday. "The driver of this vehicle, for whatever reason, didn't see her and hit her with his truck."
The woman was struck by one of the truck's side-view mirrors. She was knocked down, Jensen said, breaking her arm. The woman was being treated at Ogden Regional Hospital. The accident remains under investigation, Jensen said.
