Interesting timing of two articles Friday. One announces a fellowship in Mormon studies at the University of Utah. This is news because, despite the U. being located just several first downs away from church headquarters, it has exhibited "longstanding anti-Mormon sentiment" and "entrenched intolerance" toward Mormons.
The second article features the adulation of the state toward the U. football team. A parade in its honor was no doubt highly attended by Mormons.
Do I understand this correctly? The U. harbors "anti-Mormon sentiment" yet Mormons worship the U. Apparently it's not Christianity but football that heals all wounds.
