POINT OF THE MOUNTAIN A man is hospitalized in critical condition after his car plunged off I-15 down a 40-foot embankment.
The Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened about 1:15 a.m. Thursday on I-15 when a man in a Nissan car was in the far right lane.
"For one reason or another he was going really slow or stopped," UHP trooper Cameron Roden said. "A Ford SUV came up behind and rear-ended it."
Both cars went off the shoulder and the Nissan went down the embankment. The driver of the Nissan was transported by medical helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where he was reported to be in critical condition. The driver of the SUV had minor injuries and was treated at American Fork Hospital, Roden said.
