WEST JORDAN — A man charged with killing a man during an argument at a Copperton apartment complex will go on trial beginning in April.

Court records show that during an appearance here in 3rd District Court, Steven Lovendahl's attorney said they were ready to go forward. Jury selection in the first-degree felony murder case will begin March 31. The trial is scheduled to last until April 3.

Lovendahl, 31, is charged in the August slaying of Kevin Shepherd, who was shot during an argument in August 2008. Court records said the bullet hit Shepherd's arm, but traveled through his body and lodged in his spine, killing him.
