Powerful pickings

Sometimes I am just blown away by the powerful posts found in the Bloggernacle. You may have noticed that most weeks I choose one of these \"power picks\" to feature in the Bloggernacle Back Bench. These blogs are usually full of fascinating insights, thought-provoking questions and powerful testimony. And these posts always make me catch my breath in pure wow!

So with some powerful pickings to choose from this week, I thought I'd pull up the Power Pick feature. Prepare to be amazed.

Power pick 1: A comforting spiritual lesson for the \"over-anxious, high strung mother with an internal network of high-wire nerves\" is the theme of this beautiful post simply titled \"To Let.\"  C jane describes her never-ending anxiety about her baby and explains that she knows it's normal but doesn't want it masking her

Power pick 2: Last week, Times and Seasons picked the 2008 Mormon of the Year as Mitt Romney. Now in a similar vein, they now are musing over \"Who Should Have Been Mormon of the Year, 1950-1969\" complete with a list of individuals including Juanita Brooks in 1950, Bruce R. McConkie in 1958 and George Romney in 1967. Check out the rest of the list and weigh in!

Power pick 3: Warning: The following post is heartbreakingly detailed in its explanation of  \"Mental Illness: Postpartum Depression.\" Yet the hope and help described, especially in the gaining of needed medication and therapy combined with the testimony of learning to rely on the Lord, are incredibly uplifting. Thanks to NoSurfGirl for pointing out this powerful post!

Power pick 4: \"Are Mormons Christians? Are Post Toasties corn flakes?\" looks at the idea of name brands and how that compares to the problem Mormons encounter with others not understanding our Christianity. I was delighted by the title and the comparisons therein and amazed by the insights. And I just had to point out this commenter's answer to the question of whether he is a Christian: \"I'm Mormon. I believe I'm Christian, but some people think I'm not. Do you care enough to let me explain why I believe I am?\" Clever!
