PROVO — A man who police say threatened to kill his father, then his entire family, was arrested Sunday afternoon.

The man, 31, who lives with his parents in Provo, became so angry with them that he punched a hole in the wall of his parents' home, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.

The man began threatening to kill his father if they were left alone together, according to the affidavit. He even said he didn't care if he went to prison for life, if it was for killing his father.

Concerned family members called 911 and told police about the threats to the father as well as texts to a brother, with the man saying he was going to hurt the whole family, according to the affidavit.

Police arrived and arrested the man for investigation of criminal mischief and terroristic threats.

Police say he was compliant at first but became aggressive with officers as they were leaving the home.

A judge set bail at $50,000 cash-only bail.
