ST. GEORGE Police have located the body of a Washington County woman who went missing last week.
Searchers discovered the body of Ann Gilbreath, 44, in the Red Mountain area Saturday afternoon, emergency dispatchers said. Because of the location, rescuers could not reach Gilbreath's body. Recovery efforts were expected to resume early Sunday morning.
Gilbreath, of Ivins, had a history of mental illness, which may have played a role in her disappearance in the Red Mountain area, police said.
She had been missing since New Year's Day. Search efforts were called off for a time late in the week when harsh conditions and snow settled over the area.
