Thinking about this might make you tired. Or cause a chocolate craving. So remember that life isn't about achieving as much as you can, as quickly as you can. Rather, it's about choosing wisely what we put our energy and focus into, with the knowledge that it is taking us one step closer to our ideal life of values and spiritual growth, relationships and LIFESkills.

As you do this exercise and continue to focus energy and desire wisely, a peace and fulfillment will flow through your life. Your daily enjoyment will increase, and your ability to cull out the unnecessary will be sharpened. Quite simply, your quality of life will markedly improve because you will clearly know what will make you and those you love truly happy.

A study was done comparing the life satisfaction and happiness level between Forbes' 400 richest Americans and other less-affluent groups, including the Inuit people of Greenland and the cattle-herders in Kenya (living in dung huts with no electricity or running water). The results showed that the level of life satisfaction and happiness was the SAME.

This year, consider what matters most to you and put your BEST energy into those areas, starting with just ONE area. From personal and others' experience, beginning with a clear focus of values, purpose, and inspiration, then applying appropriate energy, and enjoying the journey all combine to create a year and a "you" like no other.
