The route has been finalized for a parade honoring the University of Utah football team next Friday. Beginning at 3 p.m., the Utah football team, band, cheerleaders, Swoop and the Muss will from march from the Eagle Gate entrance at the corner of South Temple and State Street to the City-County Building at Washington Square (400 South).
They will march behind a caravan of cars carrying coaches, administrators and dignitaries. Fans are encouraged to line both sides of State Street for the procession, which will culminate in a rally on the west steps of the City-County Building.
The marchers will toss red Sugar Bowl beads to the crowd lining the parade route, and 10,000 commemorative buttons also will be distributed. Ute players, head coach Kyle Whittingham and others will speak at the rally in Washington Square.
