ALPINE Scouts who want to attend the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Jamboree in Fort A.P. Hill, Va., may attend a sign-up and information meeting on Jan. 18.
The meeting is in the Alpine City Hall, 20 N. Main, beginning at 6 p.m. Scouts and their parents are invited.
"This 2010 Jamboree will mark the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts in America," said Scoutmaster Kent Hastings.
Only 60 spaces are available to make the trip, he said. The jamboree will take place July 26 to Aug. 4, 2010.
Plans call for the Scouts to visit American history sites and sites of interest to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sponsors are to show videos and pictures of the Jamboree and the American and LDS Church history sites they are planning to visit.
For more information contact Hastings at 801-763-9001, e-mail him at khastings@alpinecity.org or contact Larry Gordon at 801-756-7031.
