Statistically, Chris Paul had a bigger night than his rival star point guard and friend, Deron Williams.

The scoreboard told a much different story.

After a slow start, Williams and his friends in Jazz uniforms dominated the Hornets as Utah handed the Hornets a stinging 116-90 loss Wednesday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

Paul ended with 26 points and seven assists, but that wasn't nearly enough to counter Utah's balanced team attack.

Paul Millsap stretched his double-double streak to 19 with a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds, and the Jazz also got 20 points and seven boards from Mehmet Okur.

But that was hardly all the big outings for Utah, which outrebounded New Orleans 55-25. The Jazz also had key contributions from Kyle Korver (15 points, six rebounds), Andrei Kirilenko (13 points, eight rebounds) and Matt Harpring (10 points), among others.

Williams had eight points and eight assists while improving to 9-2 in head-to-head match-ups with Paul.

The win might have come at a cost to the Jazz. Starting small forward C.J. Miles left the game in the third quarter with a sprained right ankle. X-rays taken at the arena were negative and the team said it was a moderate sprain.

The Hornets carried a bit of momentum over from their big win at the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night by taking an early lead against the Jazz.

New Orleans jumped ahead 20-11 before Utah responded with a run, eventually closing the gap to four at the end of the first quarter.

The Jazz turned that into a double-digit lead by halftime, though, as Millsap scored nine points and Korver added eight in the second quarter alone.

Utah then cruised past the Hornets in the second half to secure a second-straight victory.

The Jazz continue their homestand Saturday night against Detroit.
