A man accused of kidnapping and attempted murder was arrested in Weber County Tuesday after being on the run for more than two months.
Adrian Joseph Alvarado, 30, was arrested and charged last January in connection with a shooting in August 2007 in which a bleeding man was dumped on an Ogden roadside.
Alvarado was scheduled to stand trial in October, but he skipped several hearings leading up to that and had been on the run ever since.
When Alvarado was arrested last year, police said they did not believe he was the one who shot the man that was left for dead on the road, but they did believe he was involved in the incident. The 28-year-old man was found on the 2800 block of Commerce Way with several gunshot wounds, but he survived.
Police believe the shooting was possibly in retaliation for a shooting at a wedding in Ogden the day before. The man suspected of firing a gun at the wedding, Riqo Perea, is facing aggravated murder charges for what police said was a gang-related shooting. Weber County prosecutors announced last year they plan to seek the death penalty.
