1. Provo (9-0) Class: 4A

Was: 1. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: With the preseason in the books, the Bulldogs will no turn their attention to trying to remain undefeated in region play. Next up: vs. Payson, Friday.

2. Lone Peak (8-2) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Lone Peak's once struggling offense appears to be rounding into form just in time for the start of region play next week. Next up: vs. Brighton, Friday.

3. Skyline (8-0) Class: 5A

Was: 3. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: In the midst of one of their best seasons ever, the Eagles will retire Danny Vranes' jersey during this Friday's home game against Hunter. Next up: at Judge, today.

4. West Jordan (7-1) Class: 5A

Was: 4. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The former top-ranked Jags wrap up preseason action this week with a pair of decent games against Taylorsville and Jordan. Next up: at Taylorsville, today.

5. Riverton (9-0) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 0-0. Outlook: While most teams played a game or two over the Christmas break, the 'Wolves took it easy and should be ready to roll for their region opener next Friday. Next up: vs. Viewmont, today.

6. Orem (8-0) Class: 4A

Was: 6. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Tigers are beating the teams they're supposed to, but they still haven't played a game against a top 20 team yet. Next up: at Timpanogos, today.

7. Alta (7-1) Class: 5A

Was: 8. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Enjoyed a very successful preseason trip to Texas last week, walking away with two victories. Next up: at Pleasant Grove, today.

8. Davis (4-3) Class: 5A

Was: 9. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: When you consider that Davis has no returning starters back this year, and its three preseason losses to Jordan, Alta and West Jordan were all close games, it's obvious that Davis will be a factor in 5A this year. Next up: at Layton, Friday.

9. Bear River (9-0) Class: 3A

Was: 10. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Six of Bear River's preseason victories have been against 4A teams, including two against rival Bear River. Next up: at Hunter, today.

10. Lehi (7-2) Class: 5A
