Spencer Robinson's Jan. 4 rebuttal reads like a lawyer who wants to maintain the status quo or we all risk legal tyranny. I have experienced legal tyranny at the hands of your peers. I have seen a lawyer through sleight of hand get a judge to exercise his power without that judge even knowing what he was doing. I have a worthless judgment against my own lawyer. Your peers did not even discipline him for blatant malpractice.
Here are some possible solutions. We need to eliminate the 30-day time limit for an appeal. We need to have a separate jury for each appeal. Each appeal should be a new trial. The new jury has access to the records of the last trial to determine any manipulations of the judicial process. The lawyer's job is to inform the jury of the law. Any lawyer or judge with absolute power will abuse his power. We need trials by jury.
