NEW ORLEANS — Friday night's game marked the final game for two Ute assistant football coaches, defensive coordinator Gary Andersen and offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig.

Andersen is the new head coach at Utah State, while Ludwig will take over as the offensive coordinator at Kansas State.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said he is happy for his two coaches and doesn't act overly upset about.

"I'm not a big drama guy — we're not having a meeting to cry on each other's shoulders or any of that type of deal," he said. "But it's been a positive experience working with those guys for four years. They were two of my original hires. I appreciate the hard work they've put into the program over the last four years."

Linebacker coach Kalani Sitake has been named as Andersen's replacement, but Ludwig's replacement won't be named until after the bowl game.

"Obviously we are going to have to replace Andy after the bowl," Whittingham said. "There's where my attention will turn as soon as the bowl game is over."

The Utes have lost just two coaches besides Andersen and Ludwig in the four years Whittingham has been coach, but he hinted there might be more changes coming.

"The storm is not over," said Whittingham. "We may have a couple of more guys to replace. We have coaches that are wanted. We'll see what happens. But that's part of the game."
