AMERICAN FORK Police arrested a Lehi mother who allegedly confessed she had used drugs while pregnant with her son.
The 28-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after she tested positive for methamphetamines at the hospital just before giving birth, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.
The woman told police she had used meth three times during her pregnancy and smoked marijuana at least once a month during the nine months, according to the affidavit.
She also allegedly told police she is addicted to Xanax, but couldn't remember the number of times she had used the drug while pregnant, according to the affidavit.
The woman's two children are now in state custody, police said.
She was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of child endangerment with $3,000 cash or bond bail.
