A year after becoming the first girls soccer team in 5A to ever win back-to-back state championships, the Alta Hawks did it again. Alta beat Brighton 2-0 in the championship game to claim its third straight title, joining Olympus which accomplished the same feat in Class 4A from 1994 to 1996.

Alta finished with a 19-1 record, with that lone loss coming to Brighton in region play. In its six games following that loss Alta outscored the opposition 31-0.

10. Nationally renowned

Springville wrestler Jason Chamberlain finished his career as one of the most dominant wrestlers in state history with four state titles and a 191-2 high school record. It's what he did nationally that's so impressive. Not only did Chamberlain become a two-time national champion, but he was named the 2008 Dave Schultz High School Excellent National Award winner.

Chamberlain was selected ahead of the 49 other state winners for the award based on wrestling, scholastic achievement, character, citizenship and community service.
