WEST POINT The game of municipal musical chairs in West Point is almost complete.
During a Dec. 23 meeting, the City Council appointed planning commission member Kent Henderson to fill a vacant seat on the council.
On Dec. 2, the council had appointed one of its own, Councilman Erik Craythorne, to fill Mayor John Petroff Jr.'s seat after Petroff was elected to the Davis County Board of Commissioners in November.
Petroff will be sworn in to office in early January as will Craythorne and Henderson.
Henderson was among 12 men and one woman who applied to fill Craythorne's vacant seat.
The council took 2 1/2 hours in last week's meeting to interview all 13 applicants and deliberate before making a decision, said West Point city manager Gary Hill.
